For operating systems, I typically use a dual-boot setup between:
- Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with Media Center
- Some form of 64-bit Linux distribution OR 32-bit Linux distribution with Physical Address Extension (PAE) support that varies

- Fraps (PC games)
- WinTV 7 (Older consoles via TV card’s S-Video In)
