MY CURRENT MACHINE Version 1.0

  • AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Black Edition CPU @ 3.2GHz
  • 16GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1333 RAM (4x4GB)
  • Sapphire 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6870 PCI-E GPU
  • 500GB Hitachi Deskstar SATA HDD (for Windows)
  • 320GB Segate PATA HDD (for Linux)
  • 500GB WD My Passport USB HDD (for Backups, etc)
  • 16GB Sandisk Cruzer Switch USB drive (for Windows ReadyBoost)
  • Rosewill RNB-N150UBE Wireless-N USB stick with 15dBi Hawking antenna (primary WLAN)
  • Asus WL-138g v2 Wireless-G PCI card (backup WLAN)
  • Hauppage WinTV HVR-1250 PCI-E TV Tuner card (for older console game video capture)
  • 22″ Vizio E220VA TV (Display)
  • Inland Technologies 70106 USB Keyboard
  • Logitech Marble Mouse
  • Thrustmaster 2-in-1 DT Force Gamepad

For operating systems, I typically use a dual-boot setup between:

  • Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with Media Center
  • Some form of 64-bit Linux distribution OR 32-bit Linux distribution with Physical Address Extension (PAE) support that varies

Video capture software available:

Windows:

  • Fraps (PC games)
  • WinTV 7 (Older consoles via TV card’s S-Video In)
